About NDIS Plan Managers in Australia
An NDIS plan manager pays your providers' invoices from your NDIS funding, keeps track of your budget and gives you regular statements, so you get the flexibility of choosing providers without doing the paperwork yourself. Plan-managed participants can use both registered and unregistered providers. Plan management is funded in its own Capacity Building budget (Improved Life Choices), so it does not reduce the money in your other supports.
Before you choose a provider, check whether they are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, ask about wait times and whether they can visit you at home, and confirm which support items they will claim. You can compare their rates against the current price limits in our free NDIS Price Guide.
If your NDIS plan is agency-managed (NDIA-managed), you must use registered providers. If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can also use unregistered providers, as long as the support is in your plan.
