About NDIS Psychologists in Australia
NDIS psychologists provide assessments and therapy that help you manage the impact of your disability on daily life, relationships and participation — for example building coping strategies, social skills or emotional regulation. Psychology linked to your disability-related goals is usually funded from the Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living budget; treatment of a mental health condition on its own is generally covered by the health system, such as Medicare.
Before you choose a provider, check whether they are registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, ask about wait times and whether they can visit you at home, and confirm which support items they will claim. You can compare their rates against the current price limits in our free NDIS Price Guide.
If your NDIS plan is agency-managed (NDIA-managed), you must use registered providers. If your plan is self-managed or plan-managed, you can also use unregistered providers, as long as the support is in your plan.
